Gate 13A at Dulles International Airport filled up. Mothers. Siblings. Friends. Children. Husbands. Wives. Their shared anticipation was an almost tangible sweetness rising above the aroma of stale coffee and floor cleaner. Bright
signs and brighter smiles shone from every direction. And in the middle of it all, from the confines
of her stroller, Nora DiNozzo expressed her displeasure at the commotion with wails
that proved her young lungs clear and healthy.
Normally,
she was not a fussy baby. It wasn’t
uncommon during their mid-morning walks around base for her mother to receive
compliments on the child’s mild nature and the beauty of her wide, green-flecked
eyes.
Does she
look like her father? they always asked.
More and
more each day, Ziva
would reply, for it was true. When she
missed her husband, a rule more than an exception, she did not close her eyes
to beckon memories, but gazed at her daughter and found his likeness in the
smiling face, the personification of their love. And Nora would gaze back, her world so small,
her every need met before it could be voiced. There was nothing for her to fuss over,
normally.
hate when you find a character whose so infuriatingly Your Type that its embarrassing like yeahg no one is gonna be surprised when i announce this is my new Guy Of The Month
First week back to teaching has worn me out and somehow also made me lonely - not sure how that’s possible as I have a new group of kiddos to spend my days with, but-
i forgot how deeply uncomfortable ncis s7e21 makes me. the rest of the season is like really solid tony content and this one episode is so hard for me to watch because it’s just. ick. why.
The fact that I don’t know exactly if One episode is the 21st or the 4rth etc but I know you’re talking about Obsession cause wtf😂
Omg I get to talk about my most hated episode??!??! Obsession is the worst ever.
First of all, it starts with the writers reminding us that Tony nevers commits in relationships (by making the woman crazy, of course). Then he describes his “perfect woman” as a pixie professional dream girl, proving he has no clue what he needs in a partner. I do love Ziva’s line about what would he offer a strong, independent woman like that. It’s meant to be a funny insult, but there’s truth to it. He’s scared to make an emotionally significant connection, and by setting his “standards” impossibly high, he self-sabotages any possible relationship before it can start.
But I digress.
Then, Tony goes total stalker on a woman he’s only ever seen on tv. And we’re given no reason for why he’s drawn to her, except for that she kinda fits that description of a “perfect woman” he gave. Oh, and she did some reporting from dangerous locations. So do a lot of reporters. And then when he does meet her, she’s…not that great. Reckless, too, bc she got herself poisoned to death. Not to mention there’s like five minutes of her giving exposition to solve the case, which is lazy writing.
The OP is right, the whole thing is extremely uncomfortable in the way it’s written, filmed, and acted (sorry, MW). I think they were trying to make a Dead Man Walking for Tony, and it did not work.
